Elenals Art: Painter of the mythic wild

My name is Elena, I am painter living in Dietikon, Switzerland, close to the beautiful city of Zürich. In my paintings, I channel the uplifting energy of magical creatures, the raw power of the wilderness, and the deep serenity of the ocean. My semi-abstract style allows for a dialogue between reality and imagination. Realistic elements are often modelled into more abstract, geometric forms or placed into a dream-like, fantastical setting.

In my work I mainly focus on two distinct media:

• Original acrylic paintings on stretched-canvas. Vibrant, semi-abstract statements capturing the energy of the wild

• Luminous sun-catchers on durable transparent film. Meticulously detailed pieces designed to transform light.

My acrylic paintings dive into the space where mythical creatures, real wildlife, and the beauty of nature meet, often setting them in dreamy, imaginative scenes.

I create each piece to be a look into the psyche and dreams, aiming to connect with you on a genuine, emotional level. My collection features a wide emotional range: while some works burst with powerful contrasts and vivid colours, some are serene and radiate calm.

To give the paintings depth you can feel, I often build up the surface using thick layers of acrylic paint and modelling paste. This creates a beautiful, textural, three-dimensional effect. These vibrant pieces are perfect for lifting the mood of your space and bringing a bit of the Mythic Wild's magic right into your home.

 

Luminous sun-catchers on durable transparent film

My hand-painted sun-catchers offer a unique play between light and miniature detail. Each piece is meticulously crafted on durable transparent film. The material is first cut into the desired shape, then hand-painted on top using special glass paints, that allow light to pass through.

Designed to be placed in windows or near light sources, the sun-catchers act as miniature stained-glass pieces. When placed in windows, they integrate nicely with the outside surroundings: for example, a dragon-shaped sun-catcher could appear to come out of a hill or a tree visible from your window. In front of a lamp, they cast beautiful, colourful shadows and reflections. The sun-catchers change appearance according to the light, bringing a dynamic energy to your home.

 

About me

I have been painting since I was a child, originally as a way to express my inner world and passion for nature. As an adult, I initially pursued art as a dedicated hobby alongside a career in city planning. In 2022, I made the decisive shift to pursue art full-time, becoming a professional artist. Since then, I have taken part in art exhibitions and completed various commissions including acrylic paintings and pastel pet portraits.

My art is directly inspired by time spent in nature, where I often photograph trees and animals. While composing a piece, I weave in meaning from stories, dreams and personal ideas. This blend is what you find translated into the textures, colors, and stories of my paintings.
